4 Days Left: Wonderful Chinatown

Friday, 13 December 2013 --- Today was the day for looking some orders from few friends in Sidoarjo and Surabaya. Li Li (a friend from China who studied Master at NIE) and I went to Chinatown. Why? Because we could fine many cheap things there, some said like that. So, we started our journey at Chinatown at 1 P.M. by having lunch together at Maxwell Food Center. Li Li had her duck rice, dumplings and sugar cane ice; whereas, I had rice, kway chap, and avocado juice. I was so glad to have delicious lunch while Li Li, she regretted to eat duck rice in the place where she thought the food was delicious because of the pictures advertised. Unfortunately, there was no vegetable on her dish, very different with the pictures on the stall. However, her dumplings were delicious because they were bought in different stall.

After having lunch, we walked around the Chinatown. From the decorations and the lanterns, I felt like I was really in China. Thus, Li Li was. She missed her hometown. I thought today we walked very far but we had fun time. She accompanied me to buy some souvenirs and some orders from a friend at office and church. Compared to Lucky Plaza, the price was quite the same but the quality was better in Chinatown and many choices. Then we came to a food center near MRT Chinatown. Li Li bought food for her dinner at home. She chose vegetables and meat only in big portion, without rice. While she bought it, I went to the fruit center and bought papaya and jack fruit. Then, that was our last meeting place. I took MRT from Chinatown but Li Li chose to take MRT Outram Park. So, we hugged and said goodbye. She hoped, she could visit Indonesia after finishing her study next semester and before going back to China. I would love to be a good host. Thank you, Li Li. May GOD bless your study.

Be blessed and be blessing.

Cheers,
Natalia C.
