13 Days Left: Books & T-Shirts

Wednesday, 4 December 2013 ---Nothing much I did today. As usual, I went to my campus library and sat on a big table behind Li Li who cam first before me. She sat on her own big table, and I sat behind her with a big table too. We both felt that the area we sat really belonged to us. This week, there were not many students came to campus because it was already holiday. Some were still in campus but very few. It could be identified by the numbers of canteen stalls that were closed.Talking about NIE library, apparently, I could borrow 20 books maximum plus 10 more books. I asked 'why?'. The library officer explained that because the library level 4 will be re-carpeting and all the English Language Learning (ELL) books were in that floor, so all of students were allowed to borrow more books (especially Master and Ph.D. students could borrow 10 more books, so total would be 30 books) because level 4 would be closed from 9 December until the late December 2013. Meaning that I could not borrow any books from level 4.

Yun Nan Library at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) became the next destination for me today. This evening, at 6.30, Li Li showed me where I could hunt NTU T-shirts. She accompanied me to Yun Nan bookstore where we had to take shuttle bus from our campus NIE to the bus stop of Innovation Center of NTU. Well, it took about 5 minutes. When we arrived at the bookstore, I was so happy because there were many colourful  NTU T-shirts. I tried to choose the colour that I like the most ...green. And the green of NTU T-shirt was so bright. It looked so cool and clean. I was also reminded by Li Li, while we were in NTU bookstore and souvenirs, better I bought some souvenirs with the emblem of NTU for my bosses. That was a brilliant idea of Li Li. At least, it showed that their beloved staff ever studied at NTU. I was so happy, God has shown me Li Li to guide me to the right place finding what I needed so far. What a pity was that I could not buy a shirt or T-shirt where specified written with big letters at the front or back of the shirt or T-shirt with specific major. The book seller said that it must be special edition and only given to the students only in the specific major or in the club of sport and art. The sad one was that there were no NIE T-shirt anymore. Well, at least I had NTU T-shirts with me.

Be blessed and be blessing.

Cheers,
Natalia C.
